Personal Info

Q What motivated you to become a soccer coach
A

I grew up with soccer and started coaching in Spain when I was 16. I enjoyed coaching since the 1st day so I figured that I could do it for awhile. It has been 20 years since that day and I love it just as much now as the day I started.

Q What is your favorite type of food to eat? Why?
A

Catalan and Spanish food because I grew up with it, and recently ethnic food because in Chicago there are many great places to try different food.

Q What's your most memorable soccer experience?
A

I have many. As a player, my best experience was the interaction I had with my teammates and all the friendships I made. My best friends all come from soccer. As a coach, my best experience was when I went to Barcelona to coach an FCB USA team and competed against teams from all over the world. I also met Xavi and Iniesta.

Q What is your general strategy for the game?
A

I believe in playing very simple soccer. I grew up in Barcelona and have been involved with FCB Escola for the last five years, so I always like possessing the ball.
